What is Cold Laser Therapy

More about Cold Laser Therapy

Cold laser therapy, also known as low-level laser therapy (LLLT), uses low-intensity light to stimulate healing and reduce pain or inflammation in tissues. Unlike high-intensity lasers used in surgery, cold lasers are non-invasive and don’t produce heat, which is why it’s referred to as “cold.”

The therapy works by using a specific wavelength of light that penetrates the skin and tissues. The light energy is absorbed by cells, stimulating various biological processes like increased circulation, enhanced cell metabolism, and the production of substances like collagen, which help repair tissues.

This makes cold laser therapy helpful in treating conditions like:

- Joint pain or arthritis
- Tendonitis and other soft tissue injuries
- Muscle strains or sprains
- Chronic pain
- Wound healing
